Travel Bite: Paris, je t’aime!

Paris!  The last leg of our trip was filled with amazing food and wine, more sightseeing, and plenty of wandering the streets and jardins of this beautiful city.  This was the one place of our trip that I had been before, during a class trip in high school.  Although there is so much of the world we have left to explore, there’s something amazing about revisiting a place at a different time in your life that really gives you perspective.  It was crazy to think that 9 years before, I had visited some of the same spots.  I hadn’t been to college, hadn’t met Drew, and hadn’t lived anywhere on my own.  I have so much to be thankful for that has happened since then!

2016 vs 2007!

We stayed at an Air BnB that I can only describe as Parisian.  Original hardwood floors, lovely architectural details, and an amazing view of the streets of Paris.  Not to mention that our host set out a French breakfast for us every morning!  Eating yogurt out of little glass jars, and fresh baguette smothered in butter and jam, we planned out what sights we wanted to see that day.

On our last night, we stopped at a cafe and grabbed some croque monsieurs and a bottle of red wine, and headed over to the lawn outside the Eiffel Tower to watch the nightly light show.  It was such a special night, and a great way to end our travels.  We learned a lot about traveling, and about each other, on this trip, and I’m so excited to see what our next adventures bring!

A few must-do’s in Paris:  macaroons, the Louvre, gelato, and falafel.  Drew was so excited to see La Joconde in real life ?
